Pratt’s Place appeared on the map in 1927 as a bakery and grocery store. In the 50s it was a sporting goods store, then the home of the Mountain Top Arboretum for a number of years, and then an upscale lingerie business around the 60s and 70s. Skip Pratt purchased the property in 1980 and opened Fawn’s Leap Cafe. After the cade, Vanity Fur opened as a dog groomer shop. The building was acquired by the Hunter Foundation in 2018. There are now eight residential housing units and three store fronts.
