Pratt’s Place is located at 6006 Main St. in Tannersville. It appears on the 1927 map as a bakery, run by Julius Kissley, and grocery store, run by Ed Dougherty.

The bakery was then passed on to Meyer Granitz before the building was operated by the Kebabjian family in the 1950s as a grocery store and sporting goods store. It was the home of the Mountain Top Arboretum for a number of years, as well as an upscale lingerie business around the 1960s and 70s. Skip Pratt purchased the property in 1980 and opened Fawn’s Leap Cafe. After the cafe, Vanity Fur opened as a dog groomer shop.

The Hunter Foundation purchased the property from Skip Pratt in 2018. Today there are eight residential housing units and three store fronts in Pratt’s Place:

  • Camp Catskill – An ethical outdoor shop offering a range of products for hiking, camping, and various outdoor adventures. Under the ownership and management of Ryan Penny, the store welcomes visitors from Thursday to Monday. Visit their website for more information!
