The first Family Fun Day, sponsored by the Hunter Foundation, Inc., was held at Bear Creek Recreation Area in Hunter on Sunday, September 23rd. Though we had some brisk temperatures and wind to match, we had a good turn out! It was an enjoyable day for all! Missy, from FFF Wildlife did a release of a rehabilitated red tail hawk to the awe of the crowd! WRIP was there all day broadcasting live and announcing all the great performances and presentations. The Sheriffs K-9 unit did a great demonstration with their dog Blaze, and The Academy of Dance and Creative Arts also did a demonstration, a HUGE hit with the kids! The HTC SPTO organized games for the kids which were a lot of fun. There were sack races, bobbing for donuts, relay races, tug-of-war, and so much more! It is our hope to make this an annual event- possibly moving it to earlier in the summer. We had great reviews for the excellent food prepared by Bear Creek and overall, everyone who came had a great time!

We hope to see you all again next year!
