Greene County Home Improvement Program VIII

Catskill Mountain Housing has received grant funds from the Affordable Housing Corporation to make grants available to Greene County homeowners for home improvement purposes. Applicants must be income eligible and own and occupy their home as their principle place of residence. Only single family homes may receive assistance.
Eligible repairs include: plumbing, roofing, electrical, structural and heating. Income eligibility applies.

Trailer Replacement Program

Catskill Mountain Housing has received a grant from the NYS Housing Trust Fund and the Affordable Housing Corporation for Greene County residents for replacement of deteriorated or damaged modular or mobile homes. Applicants must be income eligible and the home must be their primary residence. The grant limit is $60,000 and must cover all costs including purchasing the unit, installation, connection to all utilities and assurance of compliance with local codes.

RESTORE – Elderly Homeowners

Catskill Mountain Housing has been awarded Residential Emergency Services to Offer (Home) Repairs to the Elderly (RESTORE) Program funds to pay for the cost of emergency repairs to eliminate hazardous conditions in homes owned by the elderly when the homeowners cannot afford to make the repairs in a timely fashion.

To be eligible for assistance, homeowners must be 60 years of age or older and meet income eligibility guidelines.

Rip Van Winkle Lake

NYS Department of State Local Waterfront Revitalization Program $150,000 grant awarded in 2015 to develop a plan to restore and expand use of the lake as a recreational resource for the Village; develop a connecting loop trail with linkages into larger trails being developed for mountain biking, etc., expanding the Huckleberry Trail System.


Village of Tannersville EPF Grant for Rip Van Winkle Lake

The Hunter Foundation provided matching funds in the amount of $132,178 to the Village of Tannersville to complete projects including the purchase of a mobile stage, floating docks, playground equipment, gaga ball pit, paddle boats, boathouse upgrades, skate park additions and signage to be completed Summer 2016.


Village of Tannersville Water System

The Village of Tannersville Water System received $2 million dollars in grant funds and an additional 0% interest loan for 1.4 million to make much needed improvements to the water system infrastructure. The funds come through 2015 Water Infrastructure Improvement Act. Funds will be used to rehab and rebuild a 45 year old water treatment plant, find other sources of water, remove arsenic at an unused well and address the failing transmissions lines that are almost 100 years old.

DEC Smart Growth Grant to install two – four-sided information kiosks along Route 23A showcasing local businesses, recreational areas and Village history.


Bickelman Park

Grant funds are being sought to develop green space at the current Gotay location on Main Street along Gooseberry Creek.
